Genes for Jeans Day

We are celebrating a successful "Genes for Jeans" day at Cloughside.

There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders.

It is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and therefore 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year.

Some genetic disorders are apparent at birth while others are diagnosed at different stages throughout childhood, and sometimes into adulthood.

All staff members paid for the priviledge of wearing denim for a day, in order to raise money for charities working with those with genetic disorders.

Some staff went for double or triple denim, with one member going for quadruple denim!

We were able to raise over £30.00 over the day. Many thanks to all those who took part.
