Remote Education
Our Approach to Remote Education
At Cloughside College, we aim to provide high-quality, face-to-face teaching wherever possible. However, we recognise that some learners may be too unwell to attend lessons in person, may need education delivered on the wards, or may require a carefully planned community-based offer because of emotionally based school avoidance or a part-time timetable.
Remote education is used when it is the most appropriate way to maintain continuity of learning. This may include supporting learners on hospital wards, learners accessing provision through Aspire & Achieve Hub, or learners who are gradually building up their engagement with education.
Where remote learning is required, we plan carefully around each young person’s needs, wellbeing, readiness to learn and access to technology. We may use resources such as Google Classroom, online materials, live or recorded sessions, and individual tutorial support to help learners continue making progress.
We have also developed this approach to provide additional tutorial sessions in the run-up to examinations where extra support is identified.
